What blocks drains around here
Older Gold Coast homes were plumbed in vitrified clay and earthenware, joined with mortar or rubber rings. Those joints weep, and every tree within about 30 metres will find them. Root intrusion is far and away the most common cause of blocked sewers in this sort of housing stock.

Jetting with a root-cutting nozzle clears the mass properly rather than punching a hole through it. Then we camera the line, because on clay pipe the roots will come back unless the joint or section is repaired.
