Terms of Service
Last updated 12 September 2026
These terms apply to the use of this website and to drainage work carried out by Fair Dinkum Drainage (ABN 90 719 881 741), holder of QBCC licence 1317851.
About this website
The information on this site is general in nature and is provided to help you understand common drainage problems. It is not a diagnosis of your particular drain and should not be relied on as one. Every property is different, and the only way to know what is happening in your pipe is to inspect it.
Quotes and pricing
We do not publish fixed prices, because the cost of clearing or repairing a drain depends on where the blockage is, what is causing it and how it has to be accessed.
We provide a price before work begins. Where a job turns out to involve something that could not reasonably have been known beforehand, for example a collapsed section found once the line is cleared and inspected, we will stop, explain what we have found and agree the next step with you before continuing.
There is no call-out fee. You are charged for work performed.
Access and site conditions
You agree to provide safe access to the property and to the relevant drainage infrastructure, and to tell us about anything on site that affects safety or the work, including other services in the ground, recent excavation, and any chemicals that have been put down the drain.
Where the work is on a strata or body corporate property, you confirm you are authorised to engage us, or that the responsible party has authorised the work.
Responsibility for the drain
Drainage on your property is generally your responsibility, and the main in the street is generally the relevant authority’s. Where our inspection indicates the fault lies beyond your boundary, we will tell you and provide the footage and location information so you can report it. We are not responsible for the authority’s response or timeframes.
Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes those rights. You are entitled to a remedy for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
Payment
We accept EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard, Afterpay, Cash. Payment terms are as stated on the invoice or as agreed before work commences.
Liability
Subject to the Australian Consumer Law and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for pre-existing damage or defects in pipework that were present before we attended, for loss arising from conditions we were not told about, or for consequential loss beyond what is reasonably foreseeable.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
