Drainage in Runaway Bay
Extensive canal frontage on reclaimed low-lying land. Stormwater outfalls here are tidal, so yard drains can back up on a king tide even when the line itself is clear.
What blocks drains around here
Low-lying canal-front blocks sit close to the water table, so stormwater lines drain slowly and can surcharge on a king tide or during a downpour. Sandy backfill around the pipe lets joints move over time, and silt and sand work their way into stormwater pits and yard gullies.
How we approach it
We camera the line first rather than guess, because on a canal block a slow drain is often a fall or a partially collapsed joint rather than a blockage. Jetting clears the sand and silt without hammering an already tired joint.
What we do in Runaway Bay
- Blocked Drain CleaningBlocked toilets, sinks, showers, sewers and stormwater cleared properly, not just poked through.
- High Pressure Drain JettingWater at pressure that scours the pipe wall clean, rather than boring a hole through the blockage.
- CCTV Drain Camera InspectionsStop guessing. A camera down the line shows you exactly what is in there and what shape the pipe is in.
- Drain RepairsWhen clearing it is not enough, because the pipe itself is the problem.
- Blocked SewerMore than one fixture backing up at once. This one does not wait.
- Stormwater Drain CleaningYard flooding, overflowing pits and water heading toward the house instead of away from it.
