Drainage, not general plumbing

Most trades that clear drains do it alongside a dozen other things. We do not. Fair Dinkum Drainage works on drains: blocked sewers, blocked stormwater, jetting, camera inspections, pipe locating and repairs.

That focus is the reason we turn up already carrying the gear a drain job actually needs. A general plumber will often clear what they can reach and book a specialist for the camera work. We are the specialist, so the diagnosis happens on the same visit as the clear.

What being licensed actually means

Drainage work in Queensland is licensed through the Queensland Building and Construction Commission. We hold licence 1317851, a Drainage Trade Contractor Licence, and it is signwritten on the side of the van along with our ABN.

Both are published here because you should be able to check them without taking our word for it. The QBCC public register will confirm the licence, and ABN Lookup will confirm the business.

What we actually do

High-pressure hydro jetting

We blast through stubborn tree roots, grease, sludge and debris using high-pressure water, which leaves the pipe wall cleaner for longer than punching a hole through the blockage ever will.

CCTV drain camera inspections

Stop guessing where the problem is. Our drain cameras travel the pipe and pinpoint cracks, collapses and root intrusions, and you get to look at the footage rather than take our word for it.

Stormwater and excavation

From blocked backyard pits through to major stormwater drainage installations, we take on the bigger jobs that standard maintenance plumbers tend to pass over, because excavation and stormwater installation are the work we are set up for day to day.

How we work

We do not push work that is not needed. If your drain blocked because of wet wipes and the pipe underneath is sound, we will tell you that and you will not hear from us again for a long time. If the camera shows roots coming in through a cracked joint, we will show you the footage and explain what the options genuinely are.

Pricing is quoted before the work starts, not presented afterwards. There is no call-out fee, which means you are paying for a drain to be fixed rather than for a van to arrive.
